Nathan Robertson filed paperwork this past Tuesday to run for Mayor of Ely.

Robertson made his candidacy filing official in the morning inside City Hall, being the first person to file for candidacy this election term.

Two Ely residents filed for Seat 4, currently represented by Jolene Gardner. One is Geri Wopschall and the other is Jim Alworth, former city manager.

There have not been any filings for Seat 2, that Kurt Carson currently holds.

The filing period for elections in Ely runs through Feb. 1, meaning there is still plenty of time for more Ely residents to file for candidacy.

The primary election will be held on April 2 and the General Election will take placed on June 4.
