National School Choice Week was founded in 2011 to promote the concept of all forms of school choice: district schools, district magnet schools, charter schools, Private schools and home schooling. The week of events is scheduled the last week of January each year.

Learning Bridge Charter has scheduled events to promote the National School Choice Week here in White Pine County.

They will be promoting a proactive poster contest, where the scholars prepare a poster that shows positive thinking. Wednesday the students wore their favorite college shirt or sweatshirt. Thursday Learning Bridge had a Career Fair that our community supports.

Many community careers were present at school. The community members set up booths representing their career and the scholars rotated through the different career booths.

Some of the careers present were as follows: physician’s assistance, Sheriff’s Office, optometrist , legal, KGHM, farrier, dentist, and realtor.

On Friday, besides the open house the scholars will perform the National School Choice Week Dance. Perfect attendance awards will also be given out to the students who have not missed a day of school this quarter.
