The Certified Nursing Assistant course is an introductory health care provider course that provides classroom, practical (laboratory) and clinical experience to develop the basic competencies required for certification as a nursing assistant. Students are also provided with knowledge and skills that are prerequisites for job entry and comply with the Nevada Nurse Practice Act. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to apply for the National Nurse Aid Competency Exam (NNACE) that is required for employment as a certified nursing assistant.

The course runs March 18 – May 19. There are prerequisites that need to be met before students enroll. Please contact the Ely Center for more information at 775-289-3589. Class size is limited. Possible tuition assistance provided by JOIN for those that qualify.
