FEBRUARY 7

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City – the suspect was contacted and advised to turn down their music.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties were contacted and claimed to have only been arguing.

REPORT OF FRAUD: City – the reporting party discovered several unauthorized charges on her credit card.  A family member, identified as Danielle Cabello, was discovered to have used the card without permission.  She was arrested for larceny, burglary, and elder exploitation.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties were contacted and found to have only been arguing.

REPORT OF THREATS: City – the reporting party claimed a male had threatened him.  He was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint, which was served on the suspect.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN: The reporting party claimed a vehicle struck their trailer.  The striking vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: The reporting party claimed he was battered by another subject.  He only requested the incident be documented.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the area was checked and the subject was not located.

REPORT OF A TRESPASS: City – the reporting party requested assistance in trespassing a subject from her workplace.  The subject was contacted and advised not to return.

REPORT OF AN ATV PROBLEM: City – the subjects were contacted and advised not to ride on the roadway.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and claimed to be okay.

FEBRUARY 9

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 30 year old Idaho resident Cody Martinez was arrested for being intoxicated and walking in the roadway.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: A vehicle was located which had struck private property, but had been left unattended.  The vehicle was towed.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN: City – the reporting party claimed his vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party claimed someone had stolen their personal property whilst they were out of town.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A TRESPASS: A male subject was located who had been trespassing on private property.  He was issued a citation.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 35 year old Ely resident Andrew Vanhassel was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Frank Guadalupe, of Ely, was backing from a private drive and struck a parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy made contact with the driver of a vehicle with no license plates.  The driver was identified as Elwyn Shorthair, 30, of Ely.  He was later arrested for DUI.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – a male subject believed someone stole money from him.  The money was later located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Brenda Linnell, of McGill, struck a parked car on the side of the road.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties were contacted and they had only been arguing.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: A male subject was creating a disturbance over a parking violation.  The male was advised to keep his voice down and the parking violator was asked to remove their vehicle.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – a subject was reportedly sleeping in his vehicle in a business parking lot.  He was asked to move along and he complied.

REPORT OF A MENTAL SUBJECT: The subject agreed to seek counseling.

REPORT OF A NOISE DISTURBANCE: The party was contacted and advised not to disturb the peace.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Theresa Leavitt, of Ruth, was backing from a parked position and struck a fire hydrant.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City – there was no disturbance located.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN: City – an unknown subject struck the reporting party’s vehicle while it was parked in a private parking lot.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 31 year old Ely resident, Josh Fresquez, was discovered to be trespassing on private property.  He was also found to be in possession of a concealed weapon and is an ex-felon.  Also located on his person was a controlled substance.  He was arrested without incident.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: 62 year old McGill resident Steven Earl was arrested for being in noncompliance of his sex offender registration.

REPORT OF A BAD CHECK: City – a local business claimed to have received an electronic check was rejected by the bank.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A MAN WITH A GUN: City – a male subject allegedly had a gun and was threatening to shoot another person.  The male, identified as 35 year old Ely resident Jeremy Dingess, was contacted.  He was found to not be in possession of a firearm, but did possess drug paraphernalia.  He was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  He was arrested without incident.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – deputies responded to a school in regards to a fight.  A report was completed in regards to all of the students involved, which was submitted to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF THREATS: City – the reporting party claimed to be receiving threats from another person via The Facebook. She was advised to block them.

REPORT OF FRAUD: The reporting party received a phone call from an unknown person requesting her personal information to help her financially.  She later learned they tried to take her money from the bank.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – a local school claimed a parent had been rude when picking up a child.  He was located and warned about his behavior.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 56 year old McGill resident Richard Seely was arrested for being non-compliant with his sex offender registration.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 26 year old Ely resident Michael Ray Hiatt was arrested for a probation violation.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City – the suspect was contacted and agreed to keep the noise down.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: Contact was made with the subject who said he was fine.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was located seated in a car and claimed to be waiting for her grandmother.  This was confirmed with her grandmother.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was contacted and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties were contacted and claimed to have only been arguing.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – a vehicle, being driven by a minor, slid off the road due to icy conditions, and struck a tree.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party complained about a neighbor’s friend coming over and creating a problem.  The friend was contacted and later trespassed from the apartment complex.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the subject was gone upon arrival.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Mikell Oliver, of Georgia, began sliding on the icy road and struck a light pole.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A BURGLARY: The reporting party discovered someone entered his home and stole a firearm.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was contacted and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed a neighbor had been yelling at her and calling her names.  The neighbor was contacted and claimed the reporting party was creating issues.  Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Two subjects were fatally injured when their airplane crashed.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City – a local business requested a customer be trespassed from the property.  The subject was contacted and left without incident.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject stole money from her room.  The investigation continues.
