FEBRUARY 17

REPORT OF A PROWLER: :The area was checked, but no one was located.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH: :Hal Weese passed away at his residence due to natural causes.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City – two subjects claimed they made an agreement for a trade in services and it wasn’t being followed.  They eventually came to an agreement to dissolve the agreement.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Bradley Burke, of Ruth, backed into a parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party is evicting a tenant from a building and was afraid the tenant was going to steal property from the building.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – a store employee discovered a subject had been shoplifting.  A citation was issued to the suspect.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Sofia Davis, of Ely, was backing from a parked position and struck a vehicle being operated by Cameron Draper, of Ely.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party discovered a family member had been using a controlled substance with his juvenile son.  The juvenile tested positive for a controlled substance.  A report was completed to be submitted to Juvenile Probation.  The family member, identified as 36 year old Mychael Smith, of Ely, was contacted and was later arrested.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: The parties were contacted and claimed to have just been arguing.  They separated for the night.

FEBRUARY 18 

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the building was checked and was secure.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed to be having issues with two children she was watching.  The children were spoken to and advised to behave.

REPORT OF A SUICIDAL SUBJECT: City – the subject was contacted and agreed to go to the hospital.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject wasn’t located.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City – a local business requested a subject be removed because he was pan handling and harassing customers.  When deputies arrived, they contacted the subject, identified as 53 year old Robert Timmons, of Idaho. He was later arrested for an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City – the subject was contacted and warned about his driving.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – it was discovered to be two neighbors arguing.  Both were advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: Officers patrolled the area, but the dog was not located.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: City — officer located a stop sign that had been struck by a vehicle and was damaged. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE: City — officer received a report of a child who possibly had been battered. Officer investigated the incident and reported that it was unfounded.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: City — officer received a report of a fire hydrant that had been stuck by a vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — reporting party stated that several days ago she had been battered by her soon to be ex-husband. Officer reported that the incident is still under investigation.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted and advised that family members were on their way to pick him up. The individual stated he did not need any assistance.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a package he had delivered to his home had been stolen from the residence. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of several juveniles that were causing a disturbance. Officer contacted the juveniles involved and advised them to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer received a report of a fight that was taking place near a local casino. Officer located one of the parties involved, who requested no law enforcement involvement. A report was completed.

FEBRUARY 21 

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and was okay.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and claimed he was fine.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was not located.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE PROTECTION ORDER VIOLATION: City – the alleged suspect was gone when officers arrived.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: The reporting party claimed to be getting harassing text messages from a previous employer. The employer was contacted and advised to stop.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was gone when deputies arrived.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy observed 33 year old Ely resident Joseph Creaghe on private property on which he had recently been trespassed.  When deputies contacted him, he used loud and tumultuous language, even after being warned to stop.  When deputies took him into custody, he actively resisted arrest.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Deric Tyrel Jackson, 26, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF FRAUD: The reporting party received a phone call from someone trying to get their banking information.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was contacted and later transported to the hospital for evaluation.

REPORT OF A BURGLARY: City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject stole property from her vehicle while she was at work.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF FRAUD: City – the reporting party claimed another person was slandering her on The Facebook.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party claimed someone stole his ATV and some copper.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and was fine.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: City – the reporting party claimed to be harassed by an ex-boyfriend.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the reporting party claimed smelling a weird smell at a neighbor’s house.  The area was checked, and everything appeared okay.

REPORT OF DRUGS: City – the reporting party discovered some drugs and paraphernalia in a business bathroom.  The objects were destroyed.

FEBRUARY 23 

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – when deputies arrived the fight was over and everyone had fled.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – a business reported a subject refusing to leave.  He left when deputies arrived.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Gae Christensen, of McGill, accidentally struck a building while parking. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: He was contacted and was a worker for the property.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: City – the reporting party claimed a co-worker was harassing her. He was contacted and advised to cease his behavior.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subjects were located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 21 year old Ely resident Tanner Peterson.  He was later arrested for DUI and found to be in possession of a firearm while under the influence.

REPORT OF INJURY TO PROPERTY: City – the reporting party claimed someone damaged his car.  A report was completed.

FEBRUARY 24 

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – Daniel Ray Kumpe Jr, 28, of Ely, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF INJURY TO PROPERTY: City – the reporting party claimed someone broke his windshield.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City – it was discovered to be a man and woman arguing over child custody.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: The vehicle wasn’t located.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – it appeared the subjects had just been yelling at each other.  Both were advised to leave the business for the remainder of the night.

FEBRUARY 25 

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: The owner was located and claimed it ran out of gas.

REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE PROBLEM: The reporting party claimed several motorcycles had been driving on the roadway the day before.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: The reporting party requested a guest in her home be removed.  The guest left without incident.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: The alleged suspect wasn’t located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party wanted her roommate removed from her apartment.  She was advised she’d have to evict her through the civil court system.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties were contacted and claimed to have only been arguing.  They both agreed to calm down and discus the matter later.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City – the reporting party, an apartment manager, requested the girlfriend of a tenant be trespassed.  She was advised since the girlfriend had been allowed to live there by the tenant, she would have to be evicted.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the building was checked and everything appeared normal.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: The parties had only been arguing and separated for the night.
