Many exciting events are happening at the White Pine County Library, 950 Campton Street Ely, NV. 

March 8, 2019 beginning at 3:00 until 4:30pm a poetry workshop will be presented by Plot Twist Publishing of Las Vegas.  Participants will learn about different poem formats and prep a poem to help youth prepare for the poetry contest. The workshop is free to all ages and is to help encourage creative writing.  The deadline to turn poetry in is March 29th.  The poetry contest will be held April 6th at 10:00 am at the White Pine County Library.

March 18-21, 2019 is 3D printing week.  If you are curious, or want to invent your own 3D object, demonstrations will be held daily at 10:00 and 3:00 throughout the week.  The library offers coding and 3D printing classes on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00 pm.  This is a self-paced curriculum and logins are available for those who wish to pursue this class at home.

March 22-23, 2019 is the annual spring book sale.  Friday- 9:00-5:00 and Saturday- 9:00-2:00.  Books for all ages.  Wide variety of genres. 

March 29, 2019 is the poetry deadline. The contest is open to all school aged youth.  All poems must be registered at the White Pine County Library by 5:00 pm.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

April 6, 2019 is the annual poetry contest beginning at 10:00am, contestants should arrive by 9:30am.  Contestants must read their poems before the judges.  A Chrome Book will be awarded to one winner from each of the three age groups.

Monday 3:45pm 5-6yr olds (k & 1st)

Tuesday 10am 3-4 yr olds (pre-K)

Tuesday 3:45pm 11 and Up Club 

Tuesday 3:45pm 7-8 yr olds (2nd & 3rd)

Thursday 3:45pm 9-10 yr olds (4th & 5th)
