FEBRUARY 27

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – it was discovered nothing had been stolen.

REPORT OF A TRUANCY: City – a student was deemed a habitual truant and will be issued a citation.

REPORT OF CHILD NEGLECT: The reporting party believes his ex-wife is neglecting his child, as is her new boyfriend.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was contacted and appeared to be fine.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties had only been arguing.  They separated for the night.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party discovered a male subject had damaged some of his property.  The male was identified as 33 year old Ruth resident Robert Arnold.  He was later arrested for injury to property.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City – the reporting party heard someone yelling for help.  It was discovered to be two kids playing video games.

REPORT OF INJURY TO PROPERTY: A road sign was struck.  Unknown who hit it.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City – the reporting party discovered an unknown subject struck his vehicle while it was parked, unoccupied, in a private parking lot.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF THREATS: City – the reporting party claimed to be receiving threats via text message.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 62 year old Ely resident Vickie Lynn Peterson was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF A TRUANCY: City – a student was deemed a habitual truant and will be issued a citation.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE: The owner was contacted and advised to clean up the trash.

REPORT OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: It was collected and destroyed.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – neither vehicle was damaged, therefore no accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – contact was made with the subjects and deputies spoke to 20 year old Happy Leon Malanowski, 20 years old.  He was later arrested for domestic battery.

REPORT OF LOITERING: The subjects were gone when officers arrived.

REPORT OF THEFT: City – the reporting party discovered items missing from his home.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the alarm was set off by an inattentive employee.  Again.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Linda Hunt was discovered deceased in her residence from an unknown cause.  There were no signs of foul play.

REPORT OF A CIVIL ISSUE: City – a landlord and tenant were arguing over an eviction issue.  It was settled at the scene.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE: City – the offender was contacted and cited for the accumulation of trash in his yard.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party complained about an issue with a business she deals with.  Both parties worked out their differences and the reporting party took her business elsewhere.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed his neighbor was yelling at him for making too much noise.  The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was contacted and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 43 year old Scott Madsen, of Ely.  He was later arrested for DUI.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – when deputies arrived, they discovered there was no fight, but a large group of people congregating.  Everyone left without incident.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSING: City – the reporting party claimed someone has been stealing from his workplace and requested the offending parties be trespassed.  The suspects were not there at the time of the report.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – 60 year old Ely resident, Jeffrey Best, was being removed from a motel room by management, when he began using, and continued to use loud and tumultuous language.  Best was arrested for disturbing the peace.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed someone tried to start a fight with them.  The information was documented.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was gone when deputies arrived.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: City – the report was unfounded, as the vehicle was located across the street from the intoxicated reporting party’s location.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Chuck Sindelar, of Ely, was plowing snow and backed into a parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A BURGLARY: City – the reporting party discovered an unknown person stole property from his vehicle.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Rebecca Wittig, of Ely, failed to yield at a yield sign and struck a vehicle operated by Colleen Crossman of Ely.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF FRAUD: City – the reporting party claimed to have received counterfeit money at her workplace, for items purchased.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Paul Lynden Harker, 52, of Ely, was arrested at his residence for outstanding warrants.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF THREATS: City – a juvenile allegedly threatened another juvenile.  The investigation continues.
