Jack Dae Cork passed away March 20, 2019 in Ely, Nevada. Jack was born March 10, 1938 in Cokeville, Wyoming. In high school, Jack was a star athlete. In football, he was a quarter back and punter; baseball an ace pitcher; and basketball a center. Jack had a scholarship to South Dakota State, but had turned it down. He later moved to Ruth, married his wife Vera and had two children, Bruce and Shelly.
Jack worked as a welder for Kennecott Copper Corporation for 23 years after which, he started playing golf. Jacks brother, Charles and sons, Bob and Frank were also bitten by the golf bug. They enjoyed playing poker and betting on baseball too.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Ferris and Luella Cork; oldest brother Bob Cork who was killed in WWII-Battle of the Bulge and received a purple heart; sister Betty De Long and brother Charles Cork and his wife Nevada.
The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. at Mountain Vista Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, March 29th at 12:00 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Church, burial to follow at the Ely City Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Bruce Cork, Frank Cork, Dave Kalleres, Denny Maestes, Robert Harrison and Lamar Jones.
