Sprint events, other than the 400 meters, were not held for the White Pine High boys track team at the 12-team Battle Mountain Invitational on March 30. For the girls, only relay events were run.

White Pine won the 4×400 boys relay 4:02.5, edging out Pershing County in 4:03.1.

In the girls meet, White Pine was second in the 4×100 relay in 57.26, and second in the 4×200 relay in 2:01.4, and they won the 4×400 relay in a time of 4:28.7.

This Friday, the Bobcat teams travel to the Richard Lewis Invitational at Moapa Valley High School in Overton. Twenty teams are expected to be entered.

Beginning a new month, Kincade Waggener is the statewide 2A boys leader in the 3,200 meters with a time of 10:51.25. Adam Theuer is third in the 110m hurdles at 17.40. Luke Finicum leads in the javelin, 63-10. Phoenix Ball is second in the high jump 6-1, and he also leads the long jump, 20-2.

For the Lady Bobcats, the six-time defending 2A state champions, according to records on, Madison Rick is second statewide in the 2A girls 100 meters, 13.21, with Zoie Adams right behind in third at 13.69.

Rick and Adams are No 1 and 2 in the 200 meters. Rick at 27.77 and Adams 27.79. Morgan Hendrickson is second in the 400 meters, 1:05.27. Olivia Hendrix leads in the 300m hurdles, 51.58, and is second in the triple jump, 29-5.

White Pine leads statewide in the 2A girls 4×400 relay, 4:24.28, and the 4×800 relay, 11:59. Mickell Weston leads the girls javelin, 43-0 and the pole vault, 6-0.
