JULY 31

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had stolen two hub caps off his vehicle. Officer spoke to several individuals in the area, but no suspects were located.

REPORT OF A MOTORIST ASSIST: City — officer located a vehicle that was having mechanical problems and was blocking a travel lane. The vehicle was towed by a local tow company.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: Reporting party stated that an unknown person was camping on his property. Officer made contact with the person and advised him to leave the area. The person refused and was arrested. The person refused to provide officers with his name and information.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted who stated that he was sleeping. No problems were located.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE FOUND DRUGS: City — reporting party stated that she had located a white powdery substance in a public restroom. Officer reported that the substance was removed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had stolen a bicycle from her residence. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City —- reporting party stated that while operating her vehicle she was following the vehicle in front of her to close. She stated that the driver of that vehicle yelled at her. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE DISTURBANCE: City — officer located several juveniles riding in the area. They were advised to ride elsewhere.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: City — officer received a report of an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that several juveniles had climbed up on a roof at a local park. The juveniles were contacted and advised to stay off the roof.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER: City — reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend had violated a protective order that she has against him. Officer reported that no violation could be proved. The incident t was documented.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Nikki J. Bronson age 31 of Ely was arrested on several Municipal Court warrants.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved who had been arguing over the TV. The parties agreed that they were done arguing. No other problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Travis D. Coyer age 34 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

AUGUST 1

REPORT OF AN ATTEMPTED THEFT: City — reporting party stated that he caught an individual attempting to steal his motorcycle. The reporting party stated that he chased the person, but he had gotten away. Officers patrolled the area, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at a local casino. The person was contacted and trespassed from the business.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that several of his employees had stolen money from his place of business. Investigation into the theft continues.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — reporting party stated that he had parked his vehicle at a local parking lot and when he returned to his vehicle he observed where another vehicle had struck his causing damage. The operator of the striking vehicle had left a note on the reporting party’s vehicle with his name and phone number. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had gained access to one of the buildings at the Renaissance Village. The reporting party stated that they had caused damage to some of the property located inside the building. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised her of the complaint. No other action was reported.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Roland Disanza was operating a vehicle attempting to enter into a parked position. As he did so he lost control of his vehicle striking another vehicle and also a light pole. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City — officer reported that the disturbance was coming from individuals playing music on their stereo. They were advised to turn the music down. They complied.

REPORT OF AN INTOXICATED PEDESTRIAN: City — officer contacted the person who was not intoxicated. She was advised not to walk in the roadway.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she wanted several people trespassed from her property. The individuals were contacted and advised.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the individuals involved who stated that they had been arguing. Officer advised both parties involved to keep the peace.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Brandon Jackson of Ely reported that while operating a vehicle on US 6 he struck an elk that had entered into the roadway causing damage to his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he believed that a person he was having a problem with was inside his home. The home was checked and no one was located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were fine. The individuals requested no assiatcne.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she had located a person inside a motel room that had not been rented out. When officers arrived the person had left the area and the motel staff had cleaned the room.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE DRUNK DRIVER

City — officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator. The officer reported that the person was not intoxicated. The person was issued a warning about his driving behavior.

REPORT OF AN ATV DISTURBANCE

City — the area was patrolled, but the ATV’S were not located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

City — officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE

City — the area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

City — reporting party stated that someone had placed spray paint on his garage. The incident was documented.

The individual was contacted who requested no assistance.

City — officer located several individuals walking in the roadway having an argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

City — officer located the disturbance which was several people listening to music. They were advised to turn the music down. They complied.

City — officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they had been arguing. The parties involved separated for the night.

City — reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at a local business. When the officers arrived the person had left the area.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

City — officer received a report of an individual laying in the roadway. Officers reported that the individual was taken to the E.R. by ambulance. 

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

Officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. No problems were located. The person had pulled over to sleep for a while.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — officer received a report of several juveniles causing a disturbance. The juveniles were contacted and advised to leave the area.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE

City — the dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR

City — officer received a report of an open door on a vacant apartment. The apartment was checked and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM

Reporting party stated that her neighbor’s dogs keep coming into her yard. Officer attempted to contact the neighbor, but he was not at home. Contact will be made at a later date.

Officer reported that Reuben Leon age 73 of Ely was arrested for sex offender failure to register.

REPORT OF AN INTOXICATED PEDESTRIAN

City — officer contacted the individuals who were intoxicated and were arguing in the roadway. The parties were advised to stay out of the roadway and to separate for the night.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at a local bar by drinking other people’s drinks. The person was contacted and advised to leave the establishment. He complied.

REPORT OF A PROWLER

City — officer contacted the individuals who were walking to a friend’s home. No problems were located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST

City — officer reported that during a traffic stop on a vehicle the operator was identified as Joey F. Lerch age 39 of Ely. During the officers investigation Lerch was arrested for failure to obey a traffic signal and DUI.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that several people were causing a disturbance at one of her rentals. When officers arrived the individuals had already left the area.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

City — officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator. No problems were located.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER

The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Reporting party stated that she was looking at a picture on line and had questions about the photo. Officer looked at the photo and no problems were located.

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM

City — reporting party stated that the guardians of his children are not following the child custody agreement. The reporting party was advised to contact his attorney and report the issue.

 

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

City — reporting party stated that a black scratch mark had appeared on her back door to her residence. The reporting party didn’t know how it had gotten there. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City — Steven Finley was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a pedestrian sign behind his vehicle and struck the sign, damaging it. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — officer reported that he located several juveniles who were out past the hour of curfew. While speaking to the juveniles the officer also determined that they had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The juveniles were detained and later released to their guardians. A report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

The individuals were contacted who stated that they were find and needed no assistance.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE

The owner of the dog was contacted and advised to keep the dog in his yard.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE

City — reporting party stated that while delivering a package at a local residence a dog at the residence bite her. The reporting party received medical attention at the ER. The dog was quarantined and a citation was issued to the owner of the dog.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE

The owner of the dogs was contacted and advised to keep the dogs in her yard.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE

City — reporting party stated that he rented a motel room to several individuals. When the individuals left the room, several holes in the wall were located. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE

City — officer reported that while patrolling the Ely area he located a large amount of garbage next to a home. The occupant of the home was contacted and advised to have the garbage removed.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM

Officer received a report of an individual who might be abusing his dog. Contact was made with the person and he was provided with information on how to care for his dog.
