SEPTEMBER 3

REPORT OF FOUND PROPERTY: City — reporting party located a purse at her place of employment. The owner of the purse was contacted and it was returned.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Officer reported that Elizabeth M. Lacy age 83 of Ely died at her residence due to natural causes.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer received a report of an individual who was threatening to harm herself. Officers are attempting to locate the person.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Jorge Astaburauga of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on CR 44 when a deer entered into the highway striking his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City — officer received a report of several people trespassing at a local apartment complex. Officer contacted the individuals and identified one as Michael R Hiatt age 27 of Ely. During the officers investigation Hiatt was arrested on a probation violation.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — the area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE: City — officer received a report of a large amount of trash accumulated at a local residence. When officers arrived the trash had already been cleaned up.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Brian Bainbridge age 36 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant, for sales of a controlled substance.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: Reporting party stated that a family member is harassing her by driving by her home and messing around with her credit cards. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that a tire on his vehicle had come loose causing damage to the lug nuts and bolts. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER: City — reporting party stated that while she was away from her residence a person she has a protective order against came into her home and removed some property. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that an individual is blocking a roadway with some equipment. Officer investigated the incident and reported that the ownership of the road is in question. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted several of the parties that were involved and reported that they had been involved in a verbal argument with several other people. The parties involved had already separated. They were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that he evicted his renter, but the renter left some property behind. The reporting party was advised he needed to store the property in case the renter came back. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that she contacted her ex-husband by phone and while she was speaking to him his current girlfriend was making rude comments about her. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that someone had placed flyers in her neighborhood that were providing false information about her. Officer spoke to several people, but no one knew who had distributed the flyers.

REPORT OF A BURGLARY: City — officer received a report of several people entering a closed business. Officer contacted the individuals who were employees of the business. No problems were located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Denim B. Jensen age 30 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City — reporting party stated that a renter he had evicted had returned to the rental property. The individual was contacted who stated that he had never been evicted. The individual decided to leave the residence.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a tractor from his place of work. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT: City — investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER: City — reporting party stated that she believed that a protective order had been violated. Officer investigated the incident and reported that it was unfounded.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: False alarm.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City —Kenneth Johnson was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Payson Udall was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Udall was attempting to turn off Aultman Street onto to 15th Street and failed to see Johnson, causing an accident. An accident report was completed and Udall was issued a citation for failure to yield.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer contacted the individual who was looking at a home to rent. No other problems were located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop on a vehicle the operator was identified as Thomas Toia age 67 of Henderson, NV. During the officers investigation Toia was arrested for DUI, open container of alcohol in a vehicle and failure to maintain lane of travel.

City — officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that he was not intoxicated. No problems were located.

City — officer reported that Nikkey J. Bronson age 31 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

City — officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved had already separated for the day.

REPORT OF A TRAFFIC HAZARD

Officer received a report of a bull standing next to the roadway. The owner was contacted who secured the bull.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT

City — officer contacted the person who was sleeping in his vehicle. No problems were located.

REPORT OF THREATS

Officer received a report of an individual making threats towards another person. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF FRAUD

City — reporting party stated that someone had gained access to one of her internet accounts and had made an unauthorized purchase. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER

Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and he was issued a warning.

REPORT OF A THEFT

City — reporting party stated that he was in the process of moving and had either misplaced an item or it was stolen. A report was completed.

 

 

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT

City — reporting party stated that he was riding his skateboard on a city street and had nearly been hit by a vehicle, due to the vehicle operator not seeing him. This caused the skateboarder to crash. Officers are looking for the vehicle involved.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE

Officer contacted the resident of the home and advised her to clean up the trash in her yard our, she would be issued a citation.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

Reporting party stated that an individual had walked into her home uninvited. The individual was contacted who was suffering from mental illness. The person was assisted to her own home.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City —Walter Bunker was operating a vehicle traveling south on Great Basin Blvd. James Bishop was operating a vehicle traveling North on Great Basin Blvd. Bunker attempted to make a turn from Great Basin Blvd. and failed to yield to Bishop causing an accident. Bunker was issued a citation for failure to yield. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE ELDER ABUSE

City — reporting party stated that a family member was not being properly cared for at a care facility. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE

City — reporting party stated that her neighbor was outside his home yelling. Officer attempted to contact the neighbor, but he would not answer the door.

City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

City — reporting party stated that had evicted a renter from his rental property, but the renter had returned. The reporting party was advised to obtain a court order to have the person removed.

City — officer reported that during a traffic stop on a vehicle the operator was identified as Casey N. Bronson age 34 of St. George, UT During the officer’s investigation Bronson was arrested for DUI, headlights required, and improper turn.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT

City — officer received a report of an individual knocking on a person’s door in the early morning hours. Officer located the person who was trying to contact the reporting party. She was advised to leave the area.

City — officer conducted the building check and no problems were located.

City — officer reported that Kionna  M. McNay age 19 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI drugs, and use of a controlled substance.

City — reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on his vehicle. During the officers investigation a suspect was indented as Walter R. Kennedy age 35 of Ely. Kennedy was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle.

City — reporting party stated that someone had entered into a vacant home and removed some property. Investigation continues.

City — officer reported that Justin Poulson- Miller age 30 of Ely was arrested for DUI, headlights required, and driving without a valid driver’s license.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that she recently broke up with her boyfriend and he has made several threats towards her. The reporting removed her children from the home and no problems were reported.

REPORT OF A DEATH

Officer received a report of an individual who was unresponsive in the Success Camp Ground area. Officer reported that when they arrived the individual was receiving lifesaving procedures.  The individual was identified as Chad L. Henriod age 45 of Ely. Henriod was not revived. Henriod was transported to the Clark County Coroner’s Office to determine his cause of death.

City — officer located the ATV’S and reported that several individuals were issued citation due to violations observed.
