The Stargazer Inn and Bristlecone General Store, located in Baker, have reopened for the new year with a list of popular events that will continue and new events to bring the community of White Pine County together.
The inn and general store started the year with their full moon hike series on January 3, 2026. This hike honored new beginnings, and hikers were invited to ask themselves, “How can I more fully embody my truest self in everyday moments?”
There will be two full moons in May 2026. “This year we’re focusing on all the phases of the moon and will pose questions to enlighten our senses,” event organizers said.

Sunday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 1 at 8 p.m.
Friday, May 1 at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 31 at 8:30 p.m. – Blue moon hike, so wear blue!
Monday, June 29 at 9 p.m.
Wednesday, July 29 at 9 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. – Spooky hike, so wear costumes!
Jan. 11 will be a National Puzzle Day Celebration. The general store, in partnership with Nevada Humanities and the National Puzzle Day movement, will have puzzles for all ages and skills set up around the store. Community members are invited to stop by anytime during business hours to enjoy.
Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m., the Snake Valley Community Center will host the tales and photos of owners Liz and James Woolsey’s recent adventures in New Zealand.
The popular pizza night will be returning as well, Friday, Jan. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. Event organizers stated, “Eat in, take out. Gluten free and vegan options available. Mark your calendars…There will be more pizza on Feb 20, Mar 20, & Apr 17.”
The Get LIT book club will be meeting Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. The book of the month is “Winterdance” by Gary Paulsen.
The newest addition to the events calendar, Get Rowdy!, will be held Sunday, Jan. 25 at noon and 3:30 p.m. The NFL Conference Championship Games will be shown on the big screen.
